      ONE ON ONE COACHING: ALL AGES. Broadway actress and coach Heather Parcells will provide one-on-one coaching in voice, dance, and professional and college audition preparation. Each Zoom coaching session is 1.5 hours and includes one 30-minute planning meeting via phone or email.

      ON CAMERA! : The Stage Actor’s New World: AGES 16 +. This class will help stage actors understand the nuances of performing on Zoom and other platforms, how to use cell phone recordings, iMovie and proper lighting techniques in order to create strong audition and performance videos.

      MAKE YOUR OWN MUSICAL! AGES 7 - 12. For young actors: students will learn acting skills through games and role-play. Each class will explore the creativity and individual talents of each student and will culminate in an original musical performance!

    • Description
      SKETCH WRITING AND IMPROVISATION: AGES 11 - 13. This class is specially designed for middle schoolers! Campers will learn the basics of writing comedic sketches, develop improvisational skills and learn their very own solo bits and develop unique comedic characters. The class will culminate in a sketch show- a’ la Saturday Night Live!

      BREATHE YOUR WAY TO BROADWAY! AGES 14 +. In this course, Broadway performer and coach Heather Parcells will guide students through musical theater classes and with the added benefit of teaching mindfulness through short and simple guided meditation, Pilates, and yoga strengthening.

      VIRTUAL MAGIC CAMP!  AGES 9-14. Through the art of magic, campers will explore their curiosity and develop creativity and confidence.  They will also learn to develop presentations, write a script, and perform their magic with finesse and flair. We will learn amazing magic tricks performed with items easily found at home - paper clips, rubber bands, money, toothpicks, cards, pencils, etc!

      Sketch Writing, Improv & Creating Digital Comedy Content
    • Description
      SKETCH WRITING, IMPROV & CREATING DIGITAL COMEDY CONTENT: AGES 14 - 17. This class will provide the tools needed to develop sketch writing, improvisational skills and stand-up comedy material for high school students.  Participants will learn to create digital content as they explore writing, acting, and editing their own sketches for Instagram, YouTube, and more! The program will culminate in a showcase designed by the students.

      Puppets All Around!
    • Description
      PUPPETS ALL AROUND! AGES 5-9. Students will create their own puppets using found objects in their homes and work throughout the week to create a puppet show with music!

Welcome to
TILLES CENTER CAMPS, 2020! 

We are excited to offer a variety of unique, interactive theater, music and dance activities for students of all ages and skill levels in the summer of 2020!

These experiences will provide opportunities for students to create, move, develop performing arts skills, increase confidence and make new friends! Led by industry professionals from Broadway, film and television, there are classes to choose from for every age and skill level.


Participation
The majority of Summer on Stage classes will take place on Zoom. Some classes will offer a final culminating event which will LIVE STREAM and some classes will offer a LIVE, IN-PERSON culminating performance at Tilles Center. Cleaning and social distancing protocols will be in place for all in-person events, which will require students to come to Tilles Center for a maximum of 4 consecutive hours. (*please note that if New York State Executive Orders mandate the closing of Tilles Center/LIU, all in-person events will be cancelled and live-streaming will be scheduled)

To successfully participate, you will need a laptop, tablet, smart phone or computer with a webcam (internal or external) and reliable internet connection. Please reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns about your ability to participate due to a lack of access to technology. Once you register for a class, you will receive a private link to join.

Schedule and Fees: 
Classes take place between July 20 – 31, 2020. Camps are 5-days long and are between 1-2 hours long with some longer final days if in-person. Fees vary. To learn more, click on a link below in the camp listings.

Scholarships & Discounts: 
Limited scholarships are available and by application only. The deadline for scholarships is July 10, 2020. If you are the family of a front-line and/or essential worker, please inquire about designated FRONT-LINE/ESSENTIAL WORKER scholarships. Discounts are available for registering for multiple camps and siblings. To receive a scholarship application and/or discount coupon code, please email stephanie.turner@liu.edu.

Refund Policy
Written notice of cancellation, sent to stephanie.turner@liu.edu, must be received two weeks prior to the first date of your camp or class in order for a refund to be issued. Refunded tuition will be minus a 10% processing fee to cover expenses associated with your original booking. If a cancellation is submitted less than two weeks prior to the camp or class start a refund will only be issued if we are able to move a waitlisted student into the vacated spot.
