Created and hosted by New York Casting Director and Producer Stephen DeAngelisBroadway Fright Night features five of Broadway’s finest vocalists paying homage to the theatre world’s most original, intriguing and terrifying characters in an all-new concert event. In addition to recreating some of their most memorable musical moments, the cast will share backstage behind-the-scenes anecdotes and participate in an enlightening and entertaining question and answer session with the audience. The performance will also include a Broadway-themed Halloween Costume Contest where attendees are encouraged to dress as their favorite Broadway characters.

Scheduled performers include Richard Todd Adams (The Phantom of the Opera; Les Miserables; Jekyll & Hyde; Cats; The Woman in White; The Pirate Queen), Kristy Cates (Wicked; Charlie and the Chocolate Factory; Finding Neverland), Sara Jean Ford (The Phantom of the Opera; Cats; How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying; A Little Night Music; The Fantasticks), Justin Matthew Sargent (Rock of Ages; Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark; Bonnie and Clyde) and Jenny Lee Stern (Forbidden Broadway; Spamilton; Jersey Boys; Rocky; A Christmas Story The Musical). Musical Director/Accompanist will be Eugene Gwozdz.

RICHARD TODD ADAMS has spent much of the last decade performing in New York and across the country in some of the most sought-after roles in musical theatre. Most recently, he was the Standby for the roles of Old Deuteronomy and Gus/Bustopher Jones in the most recent Broadway revival of CATS. He is one of a handful of American actors to have portrayed The Phantom, Jean Valjean and Javert. A graduate of The Juilliard School, he began his career starring as Raoul with both the Los Angeles and national touring companies of The Phantom of the Opera. Upon returning to New York, he appeared Off-Broadway in Berlin to Broadway with Kurt Weill, Michael John  LaChiusa’s Little Fish at Second Stage and David Friedman’s Listen to My Heart at Studio 54. He and made his Broadway debut in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Woman in White, and shortly thereafter, appeared on Broadway in Boubil and Schoenberg’s The Pirate Queen. He won the 2008 Joseph Jefferson Award for his portrayal of Javert in the Chicago Production of Les Miserables at the Marriott Lincolnshire Theatre. He then returned to the national tour of The Phantom of the Opera, this time to play the Phantom. For three years, he toured the country, appearing as both Jean Valjean and Javert in the 25th Anniversary National Tour of Les Miserables. Regionally, he has starred in The Scarlet PimpernelJekyll & Hyde1776Show BoatRagtimeMan of La Mancha and 2 Pianos, 4 Hands.

 KRISTY CATES was a member of the original Broadway cast of Wicked (Understudy to Idina Menzel).  Kristy went on to open the National Tour as Elphaba and played the role for a year in the highly acclaimed Chicago sit-down production. Other Broadway roles include: Grandma Josephine in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Miss Bassett in Finding Neverland.  Off-Broadway; The Marvelous Wonderettes (Missy), Jerry Springer, the Opera at Carnegie Hall, The Bardy Bunch (Shirley Partridge) and Click Clack Moo with Theatreworks (Madison). Favorite select regional roles include Irene Malloy in Hello, Dolly!; Mother in Ragtime; Betty Blake in The Will Rogers Follies; Fraulien Kost in Cabaret and Gloria in Boeing Boeing. Kristy is a professional voiceover artist, concert soloist and is currently the Creative Director of the Professional Conservatory of Musical Theatre at NYFA.

SARA JEAN FORD is best known for starring as Christine Daaé on Broadway and on the National Tour of the worldwide sensation The Phantom of the Opera. Other Broadway: Cats (Jellylorum), How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying  (Smitty), A Little Night Music (Mrs Anderssen, Anne/Petra cover) and Finian’s Rainbow (Arlene, Sharon cover). Off-Broadway: The Fantasticks (Luisa, Revival Cast Recording). Broadway in Chicago: Wicked (Glinda/Nessa Rose cover). Regional: The Music Man (Marian), Into The Woods (Cinderella), Sunday in the Park With George  (Dot), Candide (Cunegonde), Carousel (Carrie), and originated the role of Nellie Oleson in Little House on the Prairie: The Musical. Concerts: Dream of Now, Dream of Then:  Anyone Can Whistle at City Center Encores!; Defying Gravity: The Music of Stephen Schwartz and Eric Whitacre at Lincoln Center and Paradise Lost: Shadows and Wings at Carnegie Hall, Chicago’s Auditorium Theatre, and Walt Disney Concert Hall.

JUSTIN MATTHEW SARGENT most recently starred as Drew in the Broadway production of Rock of Ages (over 500 Performances) which he also played in the show’s first National Tour. Other Broadway credits include Peter Parker/Spider-Man in Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark and Frank Wildhorn’s Bonnie and Clyde. TV: NBC’s “Jesus Christ Superstar- Live!”; “Delocated”; “MR. ROBOT”, Royal Pains”, “Law & Order; SVU”. Workshops: Bat Out of Hell (Strat). Regional: Tommy: In Concert (Tommy); The Rocky Horror Show (Riff Raff); Pippin (Pippin); Assassins (The Balladeer); Love Actually Live (Mark); High School Musical (Troy Bolton) and Jesus Christ Superstar. Justin’s next production will be the New York premiere of the new rock musical Super You! (Jay). BFA in Musical Theatre, University of Central Florida.

JENNY LEE STERN was last seen on Broadway in Rocky (Original Broadway Cast) and A Christmas Story. She toured the country as Mary Delgado in Jersey Boys, originating the role in the Chicago and Toronto companies. Off-Broadway, Ms. Stern garnered critical acclaim for her portrayals of Judy Garland, Patti Lupone, Bernadette Peters, Sutton Foster (and more!) in Forbidden Broadway: Alive & Kicking. and as The Diva in Spamilton. Favorite roles include Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd; Judy Garland in Judy Garland: World’s Greatest Entertainer; Kira in Xanadu; Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors; Lola in Damn Yankees; Liz in High Society. Ms. Stern has been seen frequently on the cabaret circuit in NYC, performing at Town Hall, Feinstein’s, Birdland, Lincoln Center, and 54 Below, including her solo show “Just A Girl”. Regionally, she has found her niche playing Patsy Cline in Always… Patsy Cline. She also tours nationally with her original show   “Patsy Cline: She’s Got You”. She has been seen on TV in “The Sopranos” and “The Mysteries of Laura” as well as annually in the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade.

EUGENE GWOZDZ (Musical Director/Accompanist) is originally from Fort Worth, Texas and now resides in NYC.     Eugene is the Music Director/Arranger for the American Dance Machine 21, and the Duke Ellington Center for the Arts. Eugene was the MD/Arranger for Our Guy, Cy, a musical concert tribute to Cy Coleman, starring Tony Award Winners, Randy Graff, Cady Huffman, and Lillias White which received rave reviews from the NYC critics; MD/Arranger for the Jerome Robbins Awards honoring Chita Rivera, Harold Prince, and Stephen Sondheim.  Music Director and Pianist/Arranger for Tony Award-winning “Princess and the Frog” star Anika Noni Rose at the Lincoln Center American Songbook Series and The Drama League Tribute to Patti Broadway: The Full Monty   and   Oklahoma!. Broadway and  National Tour credits include Sunset  Boulevard  (with Petula Clark), Flower Drum Song, Swing!, The Color Purple, The Phantom of the Opera, The Will Rogers’ Follies and West Side Story (Conducted  and played keyboards). He has worked with many Broadway stars including Audra McDonald, Brian Stokes  Mitchell, Norbert Leo Butz, James Monroe Iglehart, Shuler Hensley, Stephanie J. STEPHEN DeANGELIS (Producer/Host) is thrilled to return to Tilles Center where he previously produced Broadway Divafest and Broadway Favorites last Summer. He has produced over 300 different Broadway concerts at venues in New York and across the United States featuring a multitude of Broadway stars including many Tony Award and Drama Desk Award winners and nominees, stars from hit television series and films whose roots are on stage and Broadway’s fastest rising young performers. Throughout his career, he has worked with over 100,000 performers across all entertainment mediums. He is also the Producing Artistic Director and Host of At This Performance… ,  the critically acclaimed concert series that has showcased the talents of  almost 1100 Broadway Standbys, Understudies and Alternates since October 2003. He has cast over 3600 network television and radio commercials for Manhattan’s leading advertising agencies for such clients as DirecTV, Olive Garden, Red Lobster, E*TRADE, Febreze, Cover Girl, Pantene, Advil, Robitussin, Downy and Hewlett-Packard and has contributed to many historic and award-winning spots and campaigns including many which have been recognized with Platinum, Gold and Silver Lions at Cannes. Stephen also cast the six-time Emmy Award nominated Playhouse Disney series “Johnny and the Sprites” starring Tony Award nominee John Tartaglia which was seen on the Disney Channel. His work has been seen in New York and regionally in over 300 theatrical productions for companies including Musicals Tonight!, York Theatre Company, The John W. Engeman Theater at Northport, The Drama League, Casa Mañana, North Shore Music Theatre, Virginia Stage Company, Connecticut Repertory Theatre, Syracuse Stage, Stage One, Studio Arena Theatre, American Stage Company, GeVa Theatre, Starlight Theatre of Kansas City, the St. Louis Municipal Opera (The MUNY) and Dallas Summer Musicals among others as well as numerous festival showcases, workshops and readings. Other credits include The World AIDS Day All-Star Concert Revivals of Pippin and The Secret Garden, the All-Star production of Elegies for Angels, Punks and Raging Queens and the 25th Anniversary National Tour of Hair. He is a proud member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society and has staged musicals in major theatres across the country in Boston, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Dallas and St. Louis and throughout New York and New England. Recent productions include the All-Star concert version of Into the Woods, the 50th Anniversary celebration of the Tommy album (both at Patchogue Theatre) as well as a variety of productions for the Drama League.
