Event Details
Celebrating its 50th Anniversary, a new mesmerizing production of the iconic musical phenomenon returns to the stage. With lyrics and music by Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony winners Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber, Jesus Christ Superstar reflects the rock roots that defined a generation. The legendary score includes I Don’t Know How to Love Him, Gethsemane and Superstar.
6:30-7:15 pm in the Goldsmith Atrium: join us for preshow entertainment in the Goldsmith Atrium with students from Long Island High School for the Arts. Free for all ticketholders!

ABT PRINCIPAL DANCER MISTY COPELAND MAKES TILLES CENTER DEBUT
Tilles Center for the Performing Arts at Long Island University is proud to host An Evening with Misty Copeland on Saturday, April 26 at 7:30 pm. This one-night-only event will see Ms. Copeland, ABT’s first Black female principal dancer, author, and philanthropist, in conversation with screenwriter, author and producer, Susan Fales-Hill, as Copeland speaks about her legendary career. Dance performances will also be included, featuring members of the prestigious American Ballet Theatre Studio Company, of which Copeland is an alumna, and students of Copeland’s BE BOLD program. Proceeds in part from An Evening with Misty Copeland will benefit the Misty Copeland Foundation (MCF) and its signature BE BOLD program, which will also hold special master classes for Long Island students at LIU on April 26. -

Tilles Center for the Performing Arts at LIU Post announces Amityville native and Holy Trinity High School graduate Dennis Stowe will be one of the featured performers in Broadway Perspectives: A Concert Celebrating Diversity, a unique recognition of Black History Month, created exclusively for Tilles Center by New York Casting Director/Producer Stephen DeAngelis, Thursday, February 20 at 7 pm.
