It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Zakir Hussain, the legendary tabla virtuoso whose artistry and innovation revolutionized global music. A four-time Grammy winner with seven nominations and a recipient of the U.S. National Heritage Fellowship, Zakir Hussain’s contributions to Indian classical music and world music are unmatched. His brilliance transcended borders and inspired countless musicians and fans around the globe. In light of this loss, his scheduled April 25th performance at Tilles Center, which we were to present in collaboration with the Indo-American Arts Council, will not take place. Our thoughts are with Zakir’s family, friends, and admirers worldwide as we honor his legacy.
