🎷✨ Tilles Jazz Fest Artist Spotlight! ✨🎷 We are back with another highlight for tomorrow’s Tilles Jazz Fest! Today, we are excited to feature Matt Wilson, who will be performing with Good Trouble! 🌟 Listen to Matt speak about the origin of his jazz ensemble, Good Trouble, in an excerpt from an interview from our blog! Visit the link in our bio to read the full post! Few musicians embody the spontaneous energy of jazz quite like Matt Wilson. The New York-based drummer combines buoyant zeal, idiosyncratic style, infectious humor, joyous swing, and an indomitable spirit of surprise, making him one of the most in-demand players and educators on the modern jazz scene. He leads many distinctive ensembles including Good Trouble, the Matt Wilson Quartet, Arts & Crafts, Honey and Salt, Big Happy Family, Topsy Turvy, and the Christmas Tree-O. Named the 2018 Musician of the Year by the Jazz Journalists Association, Matt’s album, Honey And Salt (Music Inspired by the Poetry of Carl Sandburg), won 2018 Album of the Year. With over 500 album appearances and 15 acclaimed recordings as a leader, his latest album, Good Trouble, was released in June. Matt’s commitment to jazz goes beyond his skills as a drummer, composer, and bandleader. As a renowned educator, he fosters a deep connection between music and people, and is on faculty at the New School, San Francisco Conservatory, SUNY Purchase, and Sarah Lawrence College. Don’t miss out on Matt Wilson’s Good Trouble, tomorrow, at the Tilles Jazz Fest! 🎷🥁 For tickets and more information, visit TillesCenter.org or click the link in our bio.
